The draft BACTS Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for Federal Fiscal Years 2017 to 2020 is available for review and comment. These capital projects and transit operations funds are the federally funded projects that BACTS has selected, as well as any MaineDOT-initiated bridge, interstate, bicycle/ pedestrian, regional transit, and safety projects.
MaineDOT and BACTS submit the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program and the BACTS TIP to the Federal Highway and Transit Administrations. The FHWA and FTA will not release the federal funds for any of these projects without approval of the TIP by BACTS.
The BACTS Policy Committee reviews each public comment received for this document. The BACTS Policy Committee submitted the projects in the BACTS-FHWA-MPO section near the end of the TIP. Their responses to any comments on these projects will be included in the final BACTS TIP. Any public comments received on projects included in the BACTS-FHWA-MaineDOT and BACTS-FTA-Maine DOT project lists, i.e. Maine DOT initiated projects, will be forwarded to Maine DOT for their review and response included in their final STIP.
Comments must be made in writing and received before 4:00 p.m., February 16, 2017. A copy of the Draft TIP is available on the BACTS website at: www.bactsmpo.org. Any questions or written comments must be directed to:
