The U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA) is considering a request for Federal assistance from the City of Rockland, ME to construct improvements to the Municipal Fish Pier in Rockland, Knox County, Maine. Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), EDA is conducting an assessment of the potential of the proposed project to affect the environment and/or historic properties. The project includes approximately 4,000 square feet of pier resurfacing, replacement of fender piles and supports, stabilization of the storage and operations area, electrical improvements, and the dredging of approximately 10,000 cubic yards of material from the east and west sides of the pier. The project will be located at the Rockland Municipal Fish Pier, 17 Commercial Street, Rockland, ME. If you have any information regarding potential impacts environmental resources or historic properties associated with this proposed project, please provide it in writing to: Regional Environmental Officer US Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration 900 Market Street, Room 602 Philadelphia, PA 19107 Comments received in the EDA Regional Office by 5:00 pm eastern on August 23, 2018 will be considered.
