In accordance with 5 M.R.S.A 6200 et seq., the Land for Maine's Future Board announces that it will be voting to allocate funds to support the Town of Machiasport fee simple acquisition of 37.3± acres of land, with approximately 2,700±' lineal feet of water frontage on Bucks Harbor, Machias Bay, and with 128'± feet of frontage on Pettegrow Point Road, a public road, in Machiasport, Washington County, State of Maine. The subject property is identified as the property of the Heirs of James Richard Pettegrow in the Washington County Registry of Deeds Book 1153, Page 220; further described in Deeds Book 1653, Page 72, and identified on Town of Machiasport Tax Map 13, Lot 15. The Town of Machiasport will hold the subject property under a Project Agreement with ME Department of Agriculture, Conservation, and Forestry and anticipates the property will be managed for conservation, water access, traditional outdoor recreation uses, and public access.
Public comment on this proposal will be accepted at the LMF Board meeting April 24, 2018, at 1:00 PM at Marquardt Building, Room 118, located at 32 Blossom Lane, Augusta, ME.
