Upper Kennebec Region Management Plan Scoping
The Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, Bureau of Parks and Lands, will hold a public scoping meeting on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 beginning at 6:00 PM at the Quimby Middle School gymnasium, 263 Main Street, Bingham, ME. The meeting will initiate the development of a Management Plan for over 43,000 acres of Public Reserved Lands known as the Upper Kennebec Region, which includes the Holeb Unit (site of the popular Moose River Bow Trip), the newly acquired Cold Stream Forest Unit, and several smaller units between Bingham and the Canadian border. The purpose of the meeting is to share information and obtain input from the public regarding their interests and ideas for the future management of these public lands. Additional opportunities to comment will be provided once a draft Plan has been written.
