3rd FLOOR COUNCIL CHAMBERS
73 HARLOW STREET, BANGOR, MAINE 04401
An informational meeting will be held in Council Chambers at City Hall on March 22, 2018 at 6:00 PM to discuss safety concerns on a portion of Broadway (Route 15) from the intersection of Center Street and the I-95 Northbound Ramps to the intersection of Broadway and the I-95 Southbound Ramps.
This section of Broadway was identified within the 2015 Broadway Corridor Study as experiencing a higher than average number of accidents and heavy congestion during weekday commuting periods.
The Maine Department of Transportation has funded a project to further evaluate this portion of Broadway and design safety improvements to address the high number of crashes and vehicle congestion on this segment of Broadway. The City of Bangor selected Gorrill Palmer Consulting Engineers, Inc. to provide traffic evaluation and design services for this project.
The purpose of this meeting is to gather input from residents, business owners, and users of Broadway prior to beginning any significant effort towards the design of potential safety improvements. Representatives of the City of Bangor Engineering Department and Engineers from Gorrill Palmer will be present at the meeting to discuss the project and answer questions from the public.
The City of Bangor encourages those who live, work, or routinely drive on this section of Broadway to attend this meeting such that your experiences and concerns with this segnment of roadway can be considered during the design process.
If you have any questions or would like further information regarding this public meeting, please feel free to contact John Theriault, City Engineer, City of Bangor Engineering Department, 73 Harlow Street, Bangor, Maine 04401 or by telephone at (207) 992-4249.
