The Department of Defense, Veterans and Emergency Management is conducting a competitive bid process for the Houlton Armory IFR Remediation Project at the Houlton Armory located at 86 Pleasant Street, in Houlton, Maine. Bids will be opened and read aloud at the Directorate of Facilities Engineering (DFE) Building 8, 194 Winthrop Street, Augusta, Maine at 2:00 p.m. on August 17th, 2017.
Project consists of the remediation and encapsulation of lead contaminated surfaces within the former Indoor Firing Range (IFR) at the Houlton Armory. The approximate size of the IFR to be remediated and encapsulated is 1,920 square feet. Any equipment contained within the IFR shall be removed and decontaminated prior to returning it to the IFR. Non-LED interior lighting will be removed and replaced with LED lighting fixtures. Wooden ceiling and wall baffle structures and partition walls contained within the IFR are to be removed and disposed of IAW all applicable regulations. Existing parts room partition wall and caging is to be removed and replaced/reinstalled upon completion of the project. New Vinyl Composition Tile flooring to be installed throughout the existing space. Lead remediation work shall be performed in accordance with applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements as well as IAW plans and specifications created by the Directorate of Facilities Engineering. A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on August 10th at 9:00 am at the Houlton Armory located at 86 Pleasant Street, Houlton, Maine.
